A celebration of bass music’s true innovators – 5 years of bridging the gap between the past and the future, in east London’s most exciting new basement venue
Owned and run by Om Unit, Cosmic Bridge has released treasured records from legends such as Kromestar, J:Kenzo, DJ Madd, Graphs, TMSV, J(ay).A.D, Neuropol and Boxcutter, whilst bringing to light the likes of Moresounds, EAN and Danny Scrilla; who after making their debuts for the label have gone on to make waves in sound system culture.
Celebrating 5 years of the imprint’s existence, Soundcrash and Cosmic Bridge are hyped to bring you this unmissable party.
Jim Coles has been a significant and pioneering presence in various dance music circles. Following a formative decade in the global hip-hop underground, Coles took the name Om Unit in the late 2000s and began to travel across genres and scenes in search of sonic tropes to cross-breed and re-imagine. Over the past five years, this has led him to distill various influences — hip-hop, dubstep, ambient, jungle, footwork — into a fluid take on sound system culture
Moresounds’ music is that rare thing: a real synthesis of dub and dance music aesthetics, pulling from the enduring, mutating DNA strands of each to create something that’s beyond a mere mixture of styles.
J:Kenzo is the leading member of a new wave of artists on pioneering Dubstep label Tempa, as well as the founder of the influential Artikal Music UK imprint. Since 2008 he has cemented himself knee deep in the underground music scene with his signature minimalistic sound of Dub, Jungle and Techno.
Kromestar is considered to be one of the original dubstep producers. Known for his precise production, his sound can vary from extremely heavy, mechanised-like to uber chilled and tight.
