Their cleverly crafted sound’s are created through and intensive labour process designed to withstand the test of time. With a new album ‘Reachy Prints’ on Warp Records on the way (19th May), prepare to hear a performance that is likely to include a lot of cleverly thought-out, masterfully-musical creations.
Having taken the name from the Greek “Daedalus” a skillful artist and craftsman, that is exactly what Daedelus is. His construction of sound is inspired by an early interest in left-field drum and bass music, a love of which was founded on trips to London in his youth and by the pirate radio stations and underground UK rave scenes. Daedelus has a handful of releases on labels such as Ninja Tune and Anticon as well as Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder Label.
Slugabed takes the best elements from across the bass music spectrum and transforms them into his own. His intelligent and original production skills have gained incredible dancefloor appeal, it is with no surprise then that just a few of the respected DJ’s showing support include; Mary Anne Hobbs, Mark Pritchard, Benji B and Laurent Garnier. Slugabed has made himself a substantial figure in UK Bass music and has now toured the USA, Australia and Asia and played the legendary Berghain nightclub in Berlin as part of Scuba’s SUB:STANCE.
Having no musical background or formal teaching, Sri-Lankan born Londoner Suren Seneviratne aka My Panda Shall Fly has gone through many an incarnation until he found where he was comfortable – from post-rock in his early teens to sound manipulation and experimentation in his later years. My Panda Shall Fly released his debut EP on Dam Mantle’s Growing Records & Wichita Recordings – which saw incredible support from the likes of Pitchfork, Dazed Digital, Clash Magazine, XLR8R, The Independent & more.
Flint Kids deliver monumental sound creations, turbulently blending electronic soundscapes that create a highly visual listening experience.
