New York rhyme-twister Homeboy Sandman returns to London with his unique lyrical prowess and melodic flow in February 2014, for his largest headline UK show to date at The Garage. If he alone wasn’t enough, joining the stage will be eclectic producer Paul White, Paper Tiger both performing live + a DJ’s favourite DJ, Chris P Cuts!

Homeboy Sandman is one of the freshest talents in hip-hop who smashed a sold-out Cargo back in March. Sandman’s musical journey began after dropping out of Law School after  three years to pursue a career in rap, so you can see why his perspective might be a little different from your typical rapper. A voice against fraudulent politicians, relationship miscues, and the inevitable haters hating because he was “down to skip a meal or two” Sandman’s lyrical style has been described by some as slow and deliberate, like a pro hitting key spots on a dart board.

“Sandman evokes that nostalgia while remaining rooted in the present” MTV Hive

Sandman’s latest EP “All That I Hold Dear” is yet another homerun for the homeboy. As incisive as ever, stream-of-consciousness rhymes shade in the complexities of any given theme. Sandman rides the beat like a champ with his usual lyrical prowess, with artful, hysterical, disobedient hip-hop that you can dance to. “Can’t nobody rhyme like me and I get respect from all walks of life on this planet. Rich to poor, this color to that, because I show love for real, and I’m not scared. Peace” –  Sandman, we cannot wait to see you back in London.

PaulWhite, has worked with everyone from Freddie Gibbs to Madlib to A$AP Rocky. His musical knowledge is personal, diverse and his status as a uniquely talented UK producer has been on the up and up, winning accolades from artists across the board including Diplo, Mary Anne Hobbs, and Gilles Peterson.  His new EP ‘Watch The Ants’, sees him joined by the motley crew of Trim, Sean Price, Homeboy Sandman and rap superstar-in-waiting Danny Brown, who recruited Paul to produce nearly half his forthcoming album ‘Old’ and cited him as “my fav producer to work with”.Brimming with new ideas, Watch The Ants may showcase Paul White’s well-documented hip-hop chops to perfection, but it also positions him on the cusp of an exciting new musical phase.

Paper Tiger began life as a bedroom experiment in suburban Wolverhampton – electronic music merged with live instruments and musicians. Based in Leeds, the collective has refined their sound into a compelling blend of hip-hop, electronic funk and bass heavy dance music, all with a strong live presence. Over the last 2 years, they have worked with UK rap legends Foreign Beggars, Homeboy Sandman+ many more! Anyone that’s managed to catch them knows that it’s the live arena in which Paper Tiger shine –  6-piece live setup that brings their productions to life. Come see for yourself!
