London’s “Epic Soul” troubadour up close and personal at Archspace…
“It’s got a lovely retro feel, like hot buttered soul”- Craig Charles, BBC 6 Music
“This is a barnstorming statement of intent”- Narc Magazine
Fresh off the back of a selling out Jazz Cafe in November, Jack Tyson Charles returns to his hometown for an intimate show in East London’s new venue: Archspace.
2016 marked a breakthrough year for the London native, with the release of his debut solo EP ‘Restoration’, a beauty of a 5 track, which oozes feel-good cool. Aptly dubbed ‘Epic Soul’, his sound takes classic soul influences and adds a fresh, uplifting and totally modern twist, driven by his own honeyed vocals and polished, energetic backing instrumentation from South London’s Pharoah S. Russell (drums) and Tom Driessler (bass).
Like the soul singers of old his music is made to be heard live and with an impressive list of previous shows including Glastonbury, Tuck Shop & Koko already under his belt, expect this to be a truly special night at the cosy 120 capacity venue.
