Join us for an evening of brass and boogie as we bring you an unmissable lineup featuring some of the world’s best live brass bands, all under one roof for one night only, at The Garage on Friday 2nd September.
Heading up the bill, we’ve got Tru Thoughts label starlets Youngblood Brass Band, the 10-member ensemble hailing from America. Flouting convention in an ecstatic, raucous, incendiary fashion, the have taken the form of a New Orleans brass band and morphed it into a punked-out hip-hop behemoth of groove and purpose. Working with the likes of Questlove and Talib Kweli, they have brought their genre-bending music to some of the biggest stages worldwide.Youngblood Brass Band has become an institution, one that demands to be seen and heard. Rigorous dancing is also acceptable… which we can assure with be happening ALL NIGHT LONG as we party with them at The Garage.
Next up we’ve got London based 6-piece Lazy Habits, supplying beats, rhymes and brass of the highest calibre. Influenced by New Orleans, Jazz, Soul and Hip-hop, they have made their presence known with their own brand of hard-hitting beats and slick lyrics about modern British culture. Fast becoming a formidable, energetic and renowned live act, they’ll be sure to keep the party going into the early hours as they takeover The Garage.
To add to what is unmistakably the biggest live brass night London has seen, we’ve got London’s 7-piece band Dat Brass, recently awarded the title of Best Group Buskers in London as part of Gigs 2015. They’ll be bringing their high energy with funky melodies, hip hop beats, live drums and rap to ensure we’ll be dancing all night long to their original tracks as well as covers, both old and new.
Don’t miss the biggest club night in London dedicated to brass, funk, soul and everything in-between as we host a party like no other at The Garage on Friday 2nd September.
