LV WITH FULL LIVE BAND
South London duo LV, made up of Simon Williams and Will Horrocks have been at the forefront of UK electronic productions since 2007, beginning their musical endeavours together around 2000 while at university. LV have again and again shown an inventive flare for distinctly unique sounds.
LV have always thrived by working with new collaborators and environments. Their first album with urban folklore MC Josh Idehen, ‘Routes’ (Keysound) in 2011, expressed an amalgamation of a sense of ‘London underground music’ and the bipolar nuances of city living, with a uniquely funky touch unmatched before.
Their album ‘Islands’ (2014 – Keysound), reignited the musical connection with Idehen. Resonating ‘London’ sensibilities throughout, Idehen’s prolific lyricism was swathed in dreamy yet sharp production, making for yet another modern classic.
LV’s ability to conjure up new original sounds is exemplified by their impressive history of collaborations and remixes with other esteemed artists, having remixed the likes of Nitin Sawhney, Pinch, Zomby, Untold, Trim, Portico Quartet, John Wizards and Troumaca to name a few.
LV and Joshua Idehen make forward thinking, dynamic and wholly London centric bass music. Their first two releases, Routes and Islands, have garnered them critical praise from specialist and mainstream media, netting them a place on FactMag’s ‘100 albums of the decade so far’. Known for their energetic, vibrant shows, LV & Josh are currently working on a new album due out in 2017.
As a DJ operating out of London her record bag travels to dance floors all around, curating several events and an esteemed compilation, her guest mixes for festivals and publications can be heard via I-D Magazine, FACT PT, Ransom Note, Electronic Beats, Boiler Room, Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival, Ninja Tune Solid Steel sessions between others, she’s also build the Red Bull Music Academy soundsystem in Lisbon and is a regular at Notting Hill Carnival having played at the first NTS Radio Soundsystem.
