Dub icon, production pioneer, and crazy talented remix marvel brings a very special one time only performance of the legendary album No Protection at Archspace.
Soundcrash is incredibly happy to announce that the extraordinary Mad Professor will be taking to the stage on Friday 7th of April at London’s intimate Archspace venue to play his widely acclaimed version of Massive Attack’s legendary album No Protection. This is a one time event that simply can’t be missed.
Guyanese dub music producer and engineer, known for his sexy remix work as well as original productions, has garnered a reputation for twisting iconic music into unique creations of his own. Mad Professor’s work on Massive Attack’s No Protection is no exception. He has spun the original album into a work of ethereal energy with dark touches of gloomy bass and smoky melodies. This music was made to kink and curl along with the trails of smoke off a well lit blunt.
Mad Professor has established himself in the business by collaborating with reggae artists such as Lee “Scratch” Perry, Sly and Robbie, Pato Banton, Jah Shaka, and Horace Andy, as well as artists outside the realm of traditional reggae and dub, such as Sade, Massive Attack, The Ord, and Brazilian DJ Marcelinho da lua. He is considered one of the leading producers of dub music’s second generation and was instrumental in transitioning dub into the digital age.
This will truly be a night of epic proportions, a rare chance to experience one of dub’s greats performing a genuinely classic album. Grab your tickets quick for some mad music.

“If anyone was going to do dub justice to (Massive Attack’s) downtempo creations, Prof was the most likely contender.” – Fact Mag
