Mammal Hands + Leafcutter John

The hottest property in UK Jazz play a one off show at London’s most unique and extraordinary venue

We are extremely privileged to be present.. Mammal Hands, a band that are on the cusp of taking over the UK jazz scene. On top of that, we utilize one of London’s most exclusive and special venues, The Union Chapel, the architectural treasure that’s home to a working church and an award winning venue.

This is truly a once in a lifetime experience!

They have become notorious for navigating the choppy waters between contemporary dance music and jazz. Drawing on a rich well of influences from Sufi and shamanic African trance music, Irish and Eastern European folk music, to Steve Reich and Philip Glass and more contemporary electronica influences. Their music is built around deceptively simple sounding ideas that are lent power through the use of repetition and rhythmic loops.

The trio of like-minded musicians have carved out a growing following on home soil and overseas for their hypnotic fusion of jazz, folk and electronica: winning fans from Bonobo and Gilles Peterson to Jamie Cullum and they have been compared to both Portico Quartet and GoGo Penguin.

“A record that channels many different influences, subtly shaded by clever experiments” – All About Jazz

Sonic explorer Leafcutter John will be joining Mammal Hands as support for what will be a historic night in one of London’s most majestic venues, Union Chapel.
