Meshell Ndegeocello

Live at Rich Mix

Tuesday 4th October 2016

The multi-instrumentalist, singer and rapper Meshell Ndegeocello will be gracing the Rich Mix London stage on Tuesday 4th October. With support from exciting Belgium based female vocalist, Roselien.

A bass player above all else, Meshell brings her warm, fat, and melodic groove to everything she does and has appeared alongside the Rolling Stones, Madonna, Alanis Morrisette, James Blood Ulmer, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Tony Allen, John Medeski, Billy Preston, and Chaka Khan. As for her own bass-playing influences, she credits Sting, Jaco Pastorius, Family Man Barrett, and Stevie Wonder.

She has eschewed genre for originality, celebrity for longevity, and musicals trends for musical truths. Meshell’s trademark is her deft ability to radiate both femininity and masculinity in her music, whilst getting praised and hailed by music press as a ‘redeemer of soul music’.

She has lived through the boom and bust of the industry and emerged just as she entered – unequivocally herself. Fans have come to expect the unexpected from Meshell, and faithfully followed her on sojourns into soul, spoken word, R&B, jazz, hip-hop, rock, all bound by a lyrical, spiritual search for love, justice, respect, resolution, and happiness.

She delivered an epic performance at Ronnie Scott’s last year with a sold out show delivering one of her best musical sets ever. Being compared to the likes of Sade, Ndegeocello’s avant-garde approach to her latest album ‘Comet, Come to me’ is both warm and enticing.

Don’t miss out as she returns with a triumphant performance at East London’s premier creative space, Rich Mix, on Tuesday 4th October.

Belgium based band Roselien will be sure to preform an exciting support set with a mixture of soul and electronica!

“Meshell Ndegéocello’s 11th album Comet, Come To Me is the latest instalment of one of the most distinguished and uncategorisable careers of our time”. – Fact Mag

Coming all the way from Belgium, Roselien is set to perform an exciting and rare UK performance.

‘You’re a talented person, keep writing…’

‘Great stuff! I love the writing, the production and most of all your voice’
