A heartfelt, genre-bending combination of jazz, soul, pop, and electro in one of Hackney’s coolest spots
UK singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Pete Josef is a sophisticated soul boy who cut his teeth in Bristol’s buzzing music scene.
Having previously played live with D&B legend Roni Size and Reprazent, as well as fronting and co-producing the lo-fi house duo White Lamp with Darren Emerson (Underworld), Pete recently released his debut album Colours to critical acclaim.
Effortlessly blending jazz into his very own, shape-shifting take on pop, when it’s time for some soul flavours, there’s not even a hint of irony, no cool façade – Making him sound more like an artist from the sixties or seventies rather than some hip post-R&B kid.
For this very special show at Hackney’s infinitely smooth Oslo venue, Josef will roll tastes from his recent album as well bucket loads of equally inspiring and soul searching sounds into a truly memorable performance.
