Soundcrash & Archspace are proud to announce the UK screening of ‘The Unseen’; a new documentary which explores the roots of Detroit’s rich history of hip hop production. Mirroring the sketchpad style of the beat tape, ‘The Unseen’ gives a rare insight into one of hip hop’s most influential, yet least publicised scenes. Detroit’s heritage of rich, soulful hip hop is often masked by the city’s image and this documentary provides a rare glimpse into the creative processes that have shaped the Detroit sound.
‘The Unseen’ premiered at Detroit’s Museum of Contemporary Art to a great reception and with an all-star soundtrack featuring the likes of Dak, Ta’Raach, J Dilla & Quelle Chris, the film is an essential guide to Detroit’s rich and mysterious cultural scene. After the screening Passerby DJ’s will be playing a set filled with exclusive music from the film’s soundtrack.
