Soundcrash are honoured to announce the finale show of Bonobo’s North Borders tour, which will take place at Alexandra Palace. This remarkable venue will no doubt ensure that this show will be the crowning glory of a beautiful live tour which has earned Simon Green recognition such as a nomination for Best Live Act in the 2013 Association of Independent Music Awards and a feature in Resident Advisor’s Top 20 Best Live Acts of 2013 list.

Bonobo is an artist that constantly pushes himself outside of his musical comfort zone. Developing his personal music tastes and regularly expanding his range of synthesizers and instruments in turn continues to take his productions to new levels with every album. This outlook has earned him the reputation as one of the most pioneering figures in electronic music, with his music described as being thematic, resonant, addictive and perfectly formed.

2013 was a huge year for Bonobo, including a world live tour for the North Borders Album and numerous other high profile shows such as playing in the 2000 year old amphitheater for Dimensions festival’s opening concert in Croatia and not to forget, selling out Brixton Academy in November, its looking like 2014 is set to be an even bigger year for Simon Green. The North Borders Live show incorporates a wealth of musicians who interpret the album with intricacy and grace, creating a show that is seamless and breath taking.

Gold Panda has established himself as a knowledgeable producer. His sought after remixing skills saw him reimagining songs from the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, Bloc Party and The Field. In 2010 his debut album ‘Lucky Shiner’ gained a lot of positive attention and won The Guardian’s prestigious ‘First Album Award’. Since then, Gold Panda had travelled the globe from New Zealand and Australia to the USA and Singapore, playing an impressive archive of songs. His sound is musically diverse, elements of Hip Hop, techno, electronic, soul and jazz resonate throughout the extensive soundscapes he creates. Immersive in every way, the music grabs you from start to finish, enhanced only by his incredible live performances.

Dark Star quickly cemented themselves within the industry releasing on Kode9’s Hyperdub label. Since then, with the additional of a vocalist they offer a lighter, more thought-provoking approach to the wonky bass line and heavily percussive stereotype. Beautifully emotive and with creative musical depth, the trio have created something much less primitive than what the genre offered in the past. With rhythms to bounce your head to, vocals to sing along to and meandering instrumental breaks to get lost in, Dark Star create music that strikes.Their recent release has gathered much critical acclaim. ‘News From Nowhere’ is released on Warp and continues their journey through enjoyable, ambient electronic music.

Alexandra Palace is one of the most exquisite music venues in the whole of the UK, with past performers that include Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Jay-Z, Portishead and Bjork amongst many more. Originally opened to the public on the 24th May 1873 and built by the Lucas Brothers (who also built the Royal Albert Hall at around the same time) the ‘People’s Palace’, as it is also known, has historical importance not only in the arts but also played a major part ensuring the safety of the United Kingdom. During the Second World War the transmitting tower, originally used for the BBC’s main center for London from 1935, found an alternative use, jamming the German Bombers’ navigation systems during air raids.

The North Borders album and tour has been an epic chapter in Bonobo’s continuing story, with over 140 live shows in 21 different countries it will reach a pertinent Climax for this extraordinary final show.
